This was a monumental win by a dark horse who cost his owners only $9,500. Jockey Calvin Borel navigated the rail pack masterfully. He never could have done that without a horse he knew had speed under him.
The horse had the ability, but the jockey had the smarts, experience & guts to bring him to the winners circle. I love a cinderella story & this was a great one.
By the way, I decided not to make a bet. I enjoyed the race without prejudice and it was a real pleasure.
